What is bridge-to-HUD financing?
Bridge-to-HUD financing combines a short-term bridge loan with a planned exit into long-term, FHA-insured debt. The bridge loan provides speed and flexibility for acquisition, repairs, lease-up or stabilization. Once the property and borrower satisfy the applicable HUD program requirements, a HUD-approved lender refinances the bridge loan with fixed-rate, fully amortizing permanent financing.
